Anna Warnock played her first two matches in attack for Scotland's Emerging Girls against Wales. She played in every quarter of both matches, had some great runs, and assisted in a few of the goals. She was delighted to start her international career on the Friday with a victory of 4-3, and then after a practice session on the Saturday she played her part in a second victory on the Sunday by 4-2. Anna said of the weekend “I really enjoyed the experience of playing international hockey, wearing the strip, singing the anthem and being part of a great squad”.
We know for sure that we will be celebrating Anna's first goal for her country very soon. Well done, Anna !
Jess Freeland was also in action at the weekend in the Scotland Aspiring Girls team which defeated Wales 5-1 thanks to a strong second half performance after the teams were level 1-1 at half-time. Scottish Hockey reported " ... Jess Freeland was another stand out in the performance with really positive proactive defensive work. " Well done, Jess !
We are delighted for both of these girls who have progressed through Gordonians HC's Youth section into our Ladies section and are now playing National League hockey while still at school.
